Dancing in the Streets - Sand in the City Festival
As part of Summer of the Arts programming, SAND IN THE CITY Festival will be held in downtown Iowa City, August 20-22, 2010.
Music and dance will be part of the celebration on Sunday August 22: HIP HOP - ETC dancing will happen 3-3:45PM.

Organized by InterDance -by Nora Garda in collaboration with City Ballet of Iowa, Iowa City-Johnson County Senior Center, Iowa Children's Museum and numerous dancers and community members, National Dance Day will be celebrated in Iowa City on Saturday July 31st, 2010.
You can learn the choreography on line or join us for rehearsals on Wednesdays, 5-6 PM at CBI, 700 S. Dubuque St, Iowa City.
On Saturday July 31st all involved will gather in downtown Iowa City at noon. The dance will be presented at 3 different venues (tba) within a period of 2 hours.

This national celebration was created by the Dizzy Feet Foundation, a group that includes "So You Think You Can Dance" producer Nigel Lythgoe, director Adam Shankman, "Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba and actress Katie Holmes.
The organization was formed "to help underprivileged young people realize their dream of becoming professional dancers and to support, improve, and increase access to dance education in the United States."
